Robidoux
Resident Theatre is proud to present its 5th Musical
Theatre Camp. This four-week camp will be held at our venue, Robidoux Landing
Playhouse, with a four-hour-a-day, five-day-a-week program.
Unlike any other theatre camp, the students will not only
take acting, voice and movement classes, but they will also
build the sets, costumes, hang the lights and run the show!
Students with special interest in technical theatre will be
guided through the positions of light and soundboard
operator, stage manager and set and costume construction.
The students will be led by a group of professional theatre
instructors.
Disney's The Little Mermaid
Camp #1: This is the junior version of the
2008 Broadway hit! In a magical kingdom fathoms below, the
beautiful young mermaid Ariel longs to leave her ocean home
to live in the world above. But first she will have to defy
her father, King Triton, make a deal with the evil sea
witch, Ursula, and convince Price Eric that she’s the girl
with the enchanting voice! Disney’s modern classic is filled
with songs like Part of Your World, She’s In Love, and the
Oscar-winning song, Under the Sea. The Summer Musical Camp
is proud to offer in its fifth year another Disney classic
story. Get your young musical theatre student signed up
today for one of the 40 slots! This camp fills quickly and
will offer to you a professional staff and a month of
intense theatre instruction that will result in four
sold-out performances! Camp will run June 4-29, 2012 from
1-5PM Monday-Friday.
Disney's The Aristocats
Camp #2: Madame’s jealous butler Edgar
cat-naps Duchess and her Aristokittens and abandons them in
the Persian countryside. What’s a cat to do? Luckily, Thomas
O’Malley and his rag-tag bunch of Alley Cats come to their
rescue. Everybody Wants to be a Cat...this is the song that
captures the Disney classic and is sure to get all young
musical theatre campers stomping their paws! Theatre Academy
is proud to offer an additional camp for our younger
campers. This July the second camp will be available at The
Landing for a group of 25 theatre kids! This smaller camp
will give the theatre instructors the opportunity to have
more one-on-one time with each camper and help them to
develop their abilities on stage! Get your young theatre
student signed up today for a 16 day intense experience in
the wonderful world of Disney and musical theatre! Camp will
run July 6-27, 2012 from 1-5PM Monday-Friday.
